4. Objectives-
1. Apply composition guidelines to improve photo-taking capabilities.
2. Demonstrate how to do specific darkroom techniques to help improve quality of print, such as cropping, filtering, sizing, dodging, and burning-in.
3. Demonstrate an understanding of and proper use of darkroom equipment.

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. The Teacher will review the assignment schedule.
2. The Teacher will ask students to raise their hand if they have purchased their photo paper yet, and let them know when they will need to have it by.
3. The Teacher will ask students what they will need to have before they leave school for the weekend.
 

B. Development-

The Teacher will go over the Compositional Guidelines of Art Photography. What makes a photograph well composed?
Depth of Field (Fore/Middle/Back ground)
Internal Framing
Format (Portrait/ Landscape)
Simplicity
Rule of Thirds
 

C. Practice-

The students will be asked to identify what compositional "rule" was used in various photos

 

D. Independent Practice-

The Students will prepare two rolls of film to take with them for their assignment. One roll of ISO 100 and one roll of ISO 400.

Students will bracket their subjects and record their settings on an Exposure Log
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

The Teacher will work 1 on 1 with students as needed to remediate Film Loading, Film Selection, and Compositional Rules.

In the event the power goes out, the Photography Text Book will be used to provide examples of photography to allow students to identify compositional "rules".
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1. The Teacher will observe while students are loading their film cassettes to make sure students are loading correctly. (Formative)
 

G. Closure-

1. The Teacher will review what students must have with them when the bell rings. (Exposure log chart/ two rolls of film/ camera)
2. The teacher will ask students what the first setting they change on their camera after they've loaded their film, before they take any photos is. (ISO Setting)
 
7. Evaluation-
The Teacher will check student's work once the film is developed in the following week. (Summative)
