Subject: Scrapbook
1. Topic-
I want the student to generate a combined scrapbook of not only their 6th grade year, but their parents 6th grade year was well.

2. Content-
To compare the student's 6th grade year to their parents 6th grade year.

3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1. For the student to understand not only themselves better, but their parents as well.
2. To get the parent and student interacting, since middle school is a tough transition period. This is when students stop talking to their parents, so the goal of this project is to keep communication open.

4. Objectives-
1. For the student to grow up and be able to show their children their scrapbook, and compare generations of learning.

5. Materials and Aids-
Students will be provided a scrapbook. Students can then use whatever means necessary to complete the project. Paper, crayons, markers, scissors, glue, computer, etc.

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

I want the students to answer the following questions provided:
1.What clothes were popular during the students and parents 6th grade year.
2.What music was popular during the student's and parent's 6th grade year.
3.What movies were popular during the student's and parents 6th grade year.
I also want (if you can) pictures of friends that the student's and parent's had back during their 6th grade year.

B. Development-

1.Did the student answer the questions presented to him/her?
2.Can you tell if the student made up the answers, or if him/her really did converse with their parents.
3. Can you tell time was put into this assignment- are there pictures?

C. Practice-

1.Are there pictures/drawings of the questions asked?

D. Independent Practice-

1.Each student and parent get their own page per question.
2.Is each page well planned.
3.Is their a 'theme' and if so, what is it?

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.Be creative when doing this project.
2.Add stickers- i.e. if the parent grew up in the 60's, have peace sign stickers.

F. Checking for understanding-

1.Does the student fully grasp the concept of the project?
2.Can you tell the student took time in understanding the assignment?
3. Does it look like their parent did their project for them?

G. Closure-

1.Does each person, student and parent, get their own page for the question being asked?
2.Did the student get anything out of the project? Whether it be talking to their parent

7. Evaluation-
1.Did the student take their time and make their scrapbook neat and presentable?
2.Did the student ask for help if there seems to be trouble spots in their scrapbook?

8. Teacher Reflection-
1.Are my directions clear enough for the student's to do well on this project?
2.Will the student's take this project seriously?
