Teaching children the importance of recycling and the interaction between ecosystems through art mediums.
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1. For children to understand how ecosystems work.
2. For children to be able to show their understanding by creating a piece of art that reflects their environmental knowledge.
 
4. Objectives-
1. For children to be able to distinguish objects that can be recycled from objects that cannot be recycled.
2. Carrying out the sculpting/ painting methods efficently and in a creative manner.
3. Enjoyment, and appreciation of their end product.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Milk cartons/ bottles, egg cartons, cereal boxes, paddle pop sticks, match sticks, paint, plastic containers, fabric, gloves, sponges, books magazines, news papers etc.
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

Checking for understanding-

The end product of the activity can be used by the class to demonstrate their knowledge of how ecosystems interact with one another. A 'Play/ Pretend Ecosystem' within the classroom that they children can controll.
