1. Lesson Introduction-

1.Color code their worksheets
2. Fill out top part of ws as a group and the 23 HV
3. Provide an example using the doc camera
 

3. Guided Practice-

1.Have them work together in small groups and color code each type of words in each sentence.
 

4. Student Practice-

1.Assign review ws 2 using the same process
 

5. Learner Accommodations-

1. Students are in small teacher selected groups
2.Students have a tip sheet
3.Students have reference sheets
 

6. Assessment-

1.Monitor groups and make sure they are taking turns, explaining, and following the process
2. Have them check answers
3.Have them sign their names
4. have one person from each group become the expert for their assigned sentence by using a copy of the ws to color code and explain using the doc camers

1.Discuss what helped them with this assignment the most
2.What did they learn from doing this activity-what would they do different next time

1. Informal feedback on group work
2.Teacher can grade groups formally if need be
3. teacher could collect one paper from each group to be scored
