Teacher Objectives-

2.Work quietly and efficiently.
3.Have work area clean when finished.
 
Resources-
Old magazines, scissors, glue and poster board.
 
Teaching Methods-

1. Lesson Introduction-

1.List nouns on spelling test
2.Label nouns throughout the classroom
3. Show on the board words that are not nouns.
 

2. Lesson Progression-

1.Give each student two magazines, and other supplies.
2.Explain they are to find pictures of nouns, cut them out and glue them to the poster board.
3.Allow them to share magazines but not information.
 

3. Guided Practice-

1.First they cut out the pictures for 10-15 minutes
2.Next they glue them on the poster board.
3.They explain the results.
 

4. Student Practice-

1.Extra points given to multicultural posters.
2.Posters will be hung in hallway and later taken home.
3.Students can work in groups to help the slower students finish up.
 

5. Learner Accommodations-

1.Have the students switch posters and then name the nouns.
2.Have all student work together on spelling words (nouns).
 

6. Assessment-

1.Have students explain their posters.
2.Correct any mistakes or misunderstandings.
3.Hand out worksheet on nouns to make sure all student fully understand the concept.
 

7. Lesson Closure-

1.Point out examples of categories. (places)
2.Explain what would not be a noun without pointing a student out directly.
 
Measuring Student Progress-
1.Give a test to see progress.
2.Give homework with relates to nouns.
