Expected Outcome Of This Lesson Plan-
1. Students will be able to explain how teamwork saved the members of Easy Company time and again throughout the war.
2. Students will know that while working together they can achieve much more than by themselves.
3. Students will have gained a better understanding of the complex thought process of a soldier and what drives them.
 
Teacher Objectives-
1. Students will work together to present a project about teamwork.
2. Students will use their knowledge from the book and their own background to explain teamwork.
3. Students will creatively display what they have learned on a poster board.

Teaching Methods-

1. Lesson Introduction-

1. The students will discuss how they thought that the soldiers in Band of Brothers remained successful.
2. Teacher will ask students what they thought about how the men worked together to achieve their goals.
3. Students will be given a minute or two to reflect upon their thoughts on teamwork.
 

2. Lesson Progression-

1. Teacher will show that by using teamwork with their coworkers, they have developed their own poster board.
2. Teacher will explain that their poster board was about how sports teams work together.
 

3. Guided Practice-

1. Students will be separated into groups of four.
2. Groups will be given the objective to explain teamwork in their own words and create a poster board presentation that reflects their thoughts.
3. Students will be given the opportunity to draw, print out pictures, or use any other visual aids to present their findings. Their decision will be based upon a group decision.
4. Students will then present their poster board to the rest of the class in the last 5-10 minutes of the period.
5. Teacher will walk around, take notes of what is discussed, and provide help if necessary.
 

4. Student Practice-

1. Each student will have to present one part of the presentation.
2. Teacher will be able to see the content knowledge of each student and interpret how the group came to these conclusions.
 

5. Learner Accommodations-

1. Students with writing and reading disabilities will be allowed to simply create a presentation on teamwork.
 

6. Assessment-

1. Students will have demonstrated their understanding of teamwork by presenting their work to the class and explaining their conclusions.
2. Teacher will also recognize understanding by interpreting the thoughts present in each child's paper at the end.
 

7. Lesson Closure-

1. Students will be asked to write a one to two page paper on the teamwork demonstrated in the novel.
 
Measuring Student Progress-
1. Students will be evaluated upon their use of visual aids and the way they present their material to the class.
2. Students will also be given a grade on their paper they must write for homework. The paper must have detailed information from the text and quotations.
