1.Students will identify and describe "oo" words.
2. Students will read and answer questions about their texts in guided reading groups.
3. Students will read internet texts according to their reading ability.
4. Students will improve their cooperation skills in groups.
 
Resources-
Starfall.com, smartboard, phonetic games, leveled books, "oo" worksheet.
 
Teaching Methods-

1. Lesson Introduction-

1. I will explain the reading groups who will be seen and what specific texts they will be reading on Starfall.com I also will explain the learning stations to the other groups.
2. Review the sound "oo" in whole group. 3.Brainstorm "oo" words and match "oo" words to pictures using the Smartboard.
4. Explain the "oo" worksheet they will be doing independently at their desk.
 

2. Lesson Progression-

Teacher model thinking of "oo" words and matching them with the correct picture.

 

3. Guided Practice-

1. 3 reading groups will read and answer comprehension questions with the teacher during guided reading.
 

4. Student Practice-

1.All students will identify and write "oo" words with an "oo" activity sheet.
2. 4 reading groups will cooperate at learning stations with reading books or playing a phonics game.
 

5. Learner Accommodations-

1. The low reading group will have more guided instruction from the teacher.
The middle group will have some support from the teacher.
The high group will have little support from the teacher.
2. The same reading groups will be assigned a story on Starfall to independently read.
 

6. Assessment-

1.observation
2. Asking students questions about the text and the "oo" sound.
 

7. Lesson Closure-

Review the "oo", ask if any students came up with different "oo" words.
Within the reading groups, ask if they liked their text and explain why.
