Teaching Methods-

1. Lesson Introduction-

1.Teacher will show students objective and Do Now: Do now is to put the sentences in the correct sequence
2.The teacher will ask for volunteers to complete the Do Now
3.Students will complete Fact or Opinion questions
4. Teacher will begin by explaining how much she enjoyed the students writing. She will explain that there were a few events that made her want to help improve their writing skills.
 

2. Lesson Progression-

1.Students will read the writing quotation and response question.
2.The teacher will explain the writing strategies for pre-writing and post-writing.
3.The teacher will show several examples and ask for volunteers to correct the mistakes.
4. She will explain particular problems that have been occurring and model ways to correct the problems to be come better writers.
 

3. Guided Practice-

1.Students will be given their papers back and asked to read them quietly to themselves.
2.The teacher will ask the students to apply new writing strategies to enhance their writing.
3.The teacher will visit each student and conference with them
 

4. Student Practice-

1.The students will re-write their essays and apply new strategies
 

5. Learner Accommodations-

1.The teacher will work individually with each student to monitor their comprehension
2.The teacher will ask higher order questions to help students to gain knowledge about prior knowledge
 

6. Assessment-

1.During the individual conferences the teacher will check for comprehension and correct usage of strategies.
 

7. Lesson Closure-

1.The teacher will review all writing strategies with the class.
 
Measuring Student Progress-
1.The teacher will use an informal method of evaluation to insure the correct usage of strategies and check for application.
