1. To build and maintain peer relationships by using cooperation.
2. To maintain a sense of self-confidence and purpose.
3. To develop familiarity with iPad2 interface.
4. To translate effective personal and peer-related life skills from
traditional settings to the use of 21st technology. |

5. Materials and Aids-
|
1. iPad2 with video camera and computer sync cable (optional: AV
cables).
2. Computer (laptop or desktop). Optional: TV or AV equipment to view
video on larger screen. |

6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1. Teacher will introduce him/herself.
2. Teacher will introduce the topic of using 21st century technology. |
|
|
B. Development-
1. Teacher will demonstrate use of iPad2 video camera and associated
application.
2. Teacher will explain activity and model script writing and recording. |
|
|
C. Practice-
1. Students will follow this protocol to prepare for a class introduction
video production:
a. Each student will work individually to write his/her script (see
attached script form—to be provided electronically if all students
have iPads).
b. Students will work in pairs to practice delivering lines. Partners
may assist with verbal cues.
2. Students will sit next to partners in a group circle.
3. iPad will move clockwise throughout the circle. Partners will assist
each other in recording scripted introductions as rest of classmates
watch. Each pair will record and then pass the iPad on around the
circle.
4. At completion of task, teacher will download movie and play in
its entirety for class to watch. |
