3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1. Students should be able to ask their fellow classmates, "What do you want for Christmas?"
2. Students should be able to respond (without hesitation) when they are asked what they want for Christmas.
3. They should also be able to answer ask and answer the question, " Can you find (something)?"
4. Students will understand what "Merry Christmas" means.
5. They will be able to express how the holiday makes them feel.
 
4. Objectives-
1.Students should readily volunteer for activities.
2. They should participate enthusiastically.
3. They should feel confident.

Textbook, Teacher's Guide, Audio CD, Christmas Card Outline, Santa's hat, wrapped Gifts
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Review with Santa: "What do you want for Christmas?"
Student responds: "I want (something)."
2.Let's say our Christmas chant
3. Lesson Outline and Key Expressions

Received 2:

1. Hello, friends.
2. How are you feeling today?
3. Do you know what happens next month? It happens on December 25th? That's right! December 25th is Christmas time.

 

B. Development-

1.Let's listen and repeat our Key Expressions
2.Let's learn some new letters (Rr, Ss, and Tt)
3 1.I want you all to watch this youtube video with pictures of Christmas. After wards, I want to ask you how it make you feel.
4. How did the video make you feel? That's right! It made you feel (excited, happy, great,etc).
5.I explain the meaning of "Merry Christmas." The students practice saying "Merry Christmas" to each other.
6. Okay, now let's do our Pre-listening and Dialog.
 

C. Practice-

1.Let's practice writing our new letters.
2.Can you all think of 5 words that begin with each new letter?
3.Let's learn a Christmas song.
In Korean:
1.We are going to play a game with our partners. Please take out the cards in the back of your book.
2.My co-teacher explains the directions in Korean
3.My co-teacher and I walk around the room to answer student's questions and to insure that they are using their new Key Expressions
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Students have craft time.
2.They make paper Christmas trees.
3.While they are making their trees, my co-teacher and I play the Christmas chant and song for the next lesson in the background.
4 1.Let's write Santa a letter using our Key Expressions, Chant, and Song
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.If students do not understand directions to an activity then the instructions will be repeated in Korean.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1.Students read their cards out-loud for the class.
 

G. Closure-

1.Review what we have learned. The teachers ask the class questions and the class respond accordingly.
