Past experiences and holidays, places to see (seven wonders of the world, cities in Turkey, capital cities of the countries), holiday activities (boating, cycling, skiing, swimming, jogging, diving, etc.) and types of holiday (boating holiday, cycling holiday, climbing holiday, cultural holiday, wildlife holiday etc.), past tense and past continuous tense, adverbs (first, then, later, finally, in the end, among, suddenly, continuously, unfortunately), adjectives to describe cities and experiences (fine, mysterious, delightful, ancient, wonderful, spectacular, etc.)
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-

A. Introduction-

1.Telling one of your own holiday experiences using the relevant vocabulary
2.Asking the worst or the most interesting holidays the students have ever had
3.Showing photos of different holidays

 

B. Development-

1.Asking students to describe the places in photos and what kinds of activities people can do there
2. reading different and interesting holiday experiences of a student, a family and a kid
3.Listing the verbs in the stories found by the students and grouping them as regular and irregular
4.projecting a story in which the adverbs and adjectives are missing and highlighting the syntactic rules of using adjectives and adverbs
 

C. Practice-

1.Matching the photos with the types of holidays
2.Finding the verbs in short stories read in the class
3.Offering places where the adverbs and adjectives can be put
4.placing the adverbs on the box to the blanks in the sentences according to their meanings
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Changing the tense of a story in present simple to past tense
2.writing a story according to the pictures in past tense
3.putting the paragraphs of a text about the seven wonders of the world into the right order and writing a final paragraph
3.changing their texts with their friends and adding adjectives and adverbs where suitable
4.playing a game about the capital cities of the world countries
