1.To be able to explain to the children in a way that they can easily
understand.
2.To make sure that the students will be aware of drug abuse.
3.To make sure that each student learns to prevent drug abuse. |

4. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1.What is drugs? A drug is any substance that, when absorbed into
the body of a living organism, alters normal bodily function.
2. Why do people take in drugs? Some people are just curious as to
what it would feel like, some people are influenced by their peers
or influenced by what they see on television.
3. How do we prevent drug abuse? |

B. Development-
1.Drug awareness and prevention education helps decrease youth drug
abuse and increase drug awareness. Students of all ages should be
educated about the dangers of drug use.
2.Many people do not understand why individuals become addicted to
drugs or how drugs change the brain to foster compulsive drug abuse.
3.Why do some people become addicted, while others do not?
a.Biology-genes that people are born with
b.Environment-includes many different influences - from family and
friends.
4.Drug addiction or abuse is preventable .
- we can seek help from our parents whenever we have problems. (DRUGS
is never a solution to problems)
-we can seek guidance from God. We can pray .
-we can seek help from our teachers. |

C. Checking for understanding-
1.Ask students about the lesson.
2.Ask them what they have learned about preventing drug abuse
3.Ask them the bad effects of taking drugs. |
