Hygiene and Posture, Exercise and Rest, and Coping with Stress.
 
2. Content-
Vocabulary - hygiene, aerobic exercise, and stress.
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1. Learn more about proper hygiene and correct posture.
2. Learn more about exercise and how much you should be getting. Learn more about rest and how much sleep you should be getting.
3. Learn good ways on how to cope with stress and what to do in stressful situations.
 
4. Objectives-
Same as goals.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Videos, hand outs, work sheets, visuals, etc.
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Make the class learn the vocabulary.
2. Ask the class what good hygiene is, ask them why exercise and rest are important to good health, ask them good methods on handling stress.
3. Make lists of all these things and start discussing them.
 

B. Development-

1. Show the class what good posture is.
2. Show the class what good aerobic exercise is.
3. Show the class how to cope with stress.
 

C. Practice-

1. List four important aspects of good hygiene.
2. Explain why exercise and sleep are important to good health.
3. Describe methods of handling stress.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Read pages 669 through 671.
2. Review methods of hygiene, aerobic exercise, and stress.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1. List other examples of that you might think are good hygiene.
2. List other examples of aerobic exercise.
3. List some types of stress and how to cope with them.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1. Have the class complete a work sheet/quiz on their own.
2. Ask them what they think they got out of the lesson.
3. Ask them what new things they learned and what things they liked learning.
 

G. Closure-

1. Summarize good hygiene.
2. Summarize exercise and rest.
3. Summarize stress coping skills.
