What is stress?
a factor that induces bodily or mental tension. It is something that can effect the way you behave, how you feel ,and even the way you eat. Being able to handle stress is an important part of everyday life.
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.Be able to realize when you are too stressed and have ways to relax yourself
2.notice when you are "emotionally eating" or when you are not eating enough due to the stress.
 
4. Objectives-
1.participation points
2.hand out food diaries.
 
5. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.what is stress?
2.There is good and bad stress ex:excitment=good stress emphasize that your body is busy throughtout the day dealing with stress.
3.how do you eat when your stressed?
 

B. Development-

1.Stess will never go away it is part of everything you do but what can you do to lowwer your stress level and remain healthy?
-avoid stressfull situations
if possible.give them scenerios.
-think of ways to relax yourself ex: breathing,running, music
-pre-planning and organizing can help you think ahead and be ready for anything. this will reduce stress. examples.
 

C. Practice-

1.think of a stressful scenario to tell them
2.have kids raise hand to tell what you can do to lowwer the stress level
3.get two to three idea's for each scenario you do.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.name 3 things that stress you out
2.next to each one of those list two things you can do to either lower the sress level and/or how you would relieve the stress
3.pick a few to share with the class
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.it can be about any kind of stress or situation.
2.example: school home sports
3.You can use the one we talked about or make up your own
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1.go over goals.
2.ask questions to the kids about lesson, things you went over.
3.ask why it is important to be able o handle stress
 

G. Closure-

1.You can't completly eliminate stress but by useing the stress relievers and by thinking ahead you can reduce the amount of bad stress in your life.
 
7. Evaluation-
1.food diarys will be distributed 1st lesson and collected 2nd.another handed out 2nd and collected 3rd lesson.
2.at least one participation point per kid.
