1. Learn basic history of Meth including ingredients.
2. Short term health issues of users.
3. Long term health issues of users.
 
4. Objectives-
1. Students will gain a basic understanding of how methamphetamine came into use.
2. Students will learn of the dangers of using the drug short term and long term.
3. Students will be able to communicate what they have learned during the presentation.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Power Point
2 brief Internet Videos
Worksheets, poster board and markers
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. Sharing personal story regarding meth.
2. Students share stories.
3. What do the students know about meth?
 

B. Development-

1. Power Point Presentation.
2. Video one. (General health information)
3. Video two. (Before and after pictures)
 

C. Practice-

1. Students will be placed on teams.
2. Each team will have a # of questions.
3. Each team will develop a poster answering the questions.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Students will work together sharing what they have learned.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1. 3- 7 minutes will be allotted, however the time can be increased if necessary.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1. I will explain the assignment and ask for any questions.
 

G. Closure-

1. Each group will present their poster with the answers to the questions.
 
7. Evaluation-
1. The evaluation will be based on the presented knowledge recorded on the posters.
