A. Introduction-
1. Meet and greet
2.Introduction of new lesson

B. Development-
1.Introduce students to Nutrition chart and explain nutrition
2.Define proper nutrition
3.Watch video of exercise and open dialogue about exercise |

C. Practice-
1.Pass out apple slices and carrots and orange juice
2.Have each student enter simulated room and demonstrate current sleep
practices

D. Independent Practice-
1.In groups of 3's, each group will create a nutritious lunch based
on new knowledge of nutrition
2.Each student will write down three things they can change to improve
their sleep habits
3.Each students will participate in jumping jacks and stretching techniques.
They will also choose a physical activity to join |

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
1.Students brought in new recipes that are nutritious

1.10 question quiz on nutrition to include food groups, portion
control, and essential vitamins
2.short presentation from each student on how they have change their
sleep habits

1.Hand out and collect feed back forms from students on quality
and success of training
2.Encourage students to continue to apply what they have learned. |

7. Evaluation-
|
1.19 students lost an average of 3 pounds and are enrolled into
some form of physical activity
2.6 students that were mildly obese, lost 10 pounds and have brought
their asthma under control. |
|
|
8. Teacher Reflection-
|
This has been a very successful campaign to create an excitement
in my students for health, sleep and exercise. They were very responsive
to the training. |
