2. Content-
2 Christmas themes activities for the children to do while enjoying the winter season and Christmas holiday traditions.
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.Aid in their cognitive, social, fine and gross motor development.

2.Teach the students about the holiday season.
 
4. Objectives-
1.Have the children work in pairs within the class room

2.Have every student complete the race and be encouraged by their peers.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
* 2 hoola hoops
* 8 ropes
* 6 balls
* 2 garbage cans
* 20 different colored toys
* 17 plastic bags with a line from a story written on it
* a bucket of scissors
* Markers
* Stickers
* Papers with tracings of the ornaments
* Camera
* Big paper tree
* The story to quote
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.We will all meet in Mrs. Anderson's room.
2.Each child will get to pick a paper ornament to cut out and decorate
3.One finished, they will go to the gym for a relay race.
 

B. Development-

1.A demonstration will be given for what they have to do in each leg of the race.
2.Remembering the steps, the students (with their big buddies on the side encouraging) will go 2 by 2 as fast as they can through the race.
3.Once all the students have finished their big buddies will help them memorize the line to the story on their bag.
 

C. Practice-

1.Students will be given high fives from passing elves(Alicia's group members) if they cheer on other students
2.Each leg of the race is going to be demonstrated once all students are in the gym
3.having their big buddies read them the line and them repeat back the word correctly
 

D. Independent Practice-

Skills will be tested when they go to run the relay race
1.Finding the right colored toy when asked during the race
2.Following instructions with more than 1 step.
3.Throwing of the ball/aim
4.Running positions and stamina
5.Cutting and drawing fine motor skills
6.Cheering on others without being encouraged to
7.Reciting back the story line given to them
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.If the child can't get a "snow ball" into the igloo after 3 tries they will "slam dunk" it in the bin.
2.They can have their buddies say a big word with them if they're having troubles
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1.When the child goes to do the race, their buddy will have to keep track of how many reminders they need
2.Their buddy should keep track of how well they do cutting wise
3.Keep track of any encouragement of other kids
4.Remark all the physical movements your child does
 

G. Closure-

1. As a group we will all get in order and have the kids figure out where their number goes in a line of 1-17
2. Then they will read their line making a story as a class
3. Finally the big buddies will have a sheet to mark their child from 1-5 on how they did in each of the development categories in the activities.
