A. Introduction-

1. Review November words.
2. Review common Dolch words
3.
 

B. Development-

1. Discuss what Thanksgiving is
2. Discuss what people do on Thanksgiving.
3. Discuss what everyone eats on Thanksgiving.
 

C. Practice-

1. Read "Maria's Thanksgiving" on Smartboard.
2. Have students come up and underline November vocabulary
3. Complete small group writing (I am thankful for...) and fine motor practice (cut & paste turkeys)
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Complete "Thanksgiving is..." sentences.
2. Complete fine motor activity cut & paste turkeys)
3. Complete November words sentences.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1. Writing can be mixture of words & pictures.
2. Assistance with art word directions if necessary.
3. Vocabulary and Dolch words used/known by indiv. student
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1. Student is able to underline correct vocabulary/Dolch word.
2. Student able to use words and pictures or write November vocab. in a complete sentence.
3. Student able to complete fine motor activity.
