6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

Hook: Show comic strip on slide, and then play the game.
History: Give a bit of the history of the knots.

In the 1980's, biologists and chemists studying genetics found that DNA can sometimes become tangled. Experiments suggested that how a DNA strand knots might have an impact on the properties of the resulting strand after replication.

The GRANNY Knot is the most common but probably the hardest to untie.

B. Development-

Learning How To Tie a Bowline

This knot can be used for mechanical advantage, also for putting a temporary eye in a line.

Explanation:
Step One: Begin by forming a little loop (the rabbit hole) by crossing the line over itself as shown here.

Step Two: Bring the End Up Through the Small Loop

Step Three:Bring the End Under the Standing Line

Step Four:Bring the End Back Over the Standing Line

Step Five:Bring the End Back Through the Small Loop

Step Six:Pull the Knot Tight
