6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. Can you recall when you had your first piece of cake?
2. When do we typically eat or cook cake?
3. What type of feeling do you get when you see your parents baking a cake or when you are eating cake?
 

B. Development-

1. Students will listen to the teacher read Flicka, Ricka, Dicka Bake a Cake
2. Students will recall how Flicka, Ricka, Dicka baked their cake.
3.Students will watch the teacher go through the steps of baking the cake while making the correlation to the book.
 

C. Practice-

1. Students are to call out the step that Flicka, Ricka, Dicka took during their cake making process.
2. After the student watch the teacher demonstration students will recite the steps the teacher took to make his/her cake.
3. Student will be placed in a group to discuss how to make a cake.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Students are to write down the ingredients needed to bake a cake
2. The students are to gather all the ingredients needed to make a cake.
3. Students are to go through the steps of baking a cake.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1. The teacher will write vocabulary words on the board during discussion and say the words over aloud several times.
2.The teacher will demonstrate how to bake a cake.
3.The teacher will identify and differentiate between the different ingredients
4. ELL's will be paired with a peer that speaks their native language.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1. Students are to have their step check by the teacher before proceeding to the gathering their ingredients
2. The teacher will observe the students during their mixing process.
3.Students will all go in front of the class and recall what they have learn from this activity.
 

G. Closure-

1. Students will bake their ingredients to produce a cake.
2. Students will have an opportunity to decorate their cakes
 
7. Evaluation-
1. Teacher will review written step by students.
2.Teacher will review students during the cake making procedure.
