4 slices of wheat bread per student
Jar of peanut butter
Jar of grape jelly
2 disposable butter knives per student
1 disposable plate per student
2 disposable napkins per student
2 plastic sandwich bags per student.

6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1.Thumbs up if you have ever eaten a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
2. Tell your partner what your favorite kind of peanut butter and
jelly sandwich is.
3.Thumbs up if you like to eat peanut butter and grape jelly sandwiches.
4. Today you will learn how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
on your own. |

B. Development-
1. Display Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich recipe on screen using
document camera.
2. Explain to students that it is important to read a recipe before
beginning. Read recipe to students as they read to themselves
3. Explain to students that they must collect their materials before
they begin making their sandwich. Using the recipe model for students
how to collect the necessary materials.
4. Using the recipe, model for students how to follow the recipe,
demonstrating what each step should look like. |

C. Practice-
1. Now we will make a sandwich together.
2. Guide students through the Peanut Butter and Jelly recipe, step
by step. Asses that each student has successfully finished a step
before moving on to the next. |

D. Independent Practice-
1.Now you will make a peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich on
your own. Do your best work because you will be giving this sandwich
to a friend in the next class.
2. Walk around the classroom monitoring student progress. |

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
1. Leave recipe projected on screen for students to refer to if
needed.
2. Assist those students whose motor skills are not developed enough
to complete the task. |

F. Checking for understanding-
1. Check students finished sandwich.
2. Check that student has cleaned up their area per the recipe.

1. Tell your partner how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

1.Take recipe down and have students write the steps necessary to
make a peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich to give to their friend
