6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1. Children learn to identify similarities and differences between
objects.
2. Children use above skills to sort objects and identify the secret
rule to sort objects.
3. Children will use Little Bird Tales to record their voices and
take pictures of their sort. |

|
B. Development-
1. The children started by sorting by one then two then three attributes.
2. The children noticed and practiced fluency in their audio recordings.
3. The children practiced with teacher guidance how to upload and
arrange the pages of our book. |
|
|
C. Practice-
1.The children worked together in Teams of two to sort objects.
2.The children tried to guess their partner's sorting rule.
3.The teacher sat with the children in groups of four to model using
the app over several days. |

D. Independent Practice-
1. The children sat with a partner from a different class and explained
sorting by attributes.
2. The children worked in pairs practicing taking and uploading photos
and recording their voices.
3. The children decided if they wanted to sort by one, two, or three
attributes. |

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
1.The teacher will scaffold instruction both in Math content and
technology .
2.Prompt children with questions.
3.Sort by other attributes for children who need a challenge. |

F. Checking for understanding-
1.Assess if the children can take photo, record voice and upload
using the app Little Bird Tale.
2.Share the video with another Kindergarten class for peer feedback.
3.Sorting by three attributes. |

G. Closure-
1.Class revised some of the photos and sorting rules.
2.Class viewed the finished video several times to guess the sorting
rule. |

7. Evaluation-
|
1. The children started out taking pictures, then recording voices.
After several sessions, they worked on recording content.
2. The children have become comfortable using this app for this lesson
and are eager to use it across the curriculum. |
