|
Teaching the children about the earth and how things grow and what
it takes to make them survive.
|

3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
|
Learn what basic earth matter such as sand, grass, sea shells, animal
life, and plant life are.
|
|
|
4. Objectives-
|
Teach them to work together to form a basic ecosystem. |
|
|
5. Materials and Aids-
|
Workstation, bibs, glass jar sand, seashells, plant life, salt water,
construction paper and scissors. |
|
|
6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
To teach children the value of life and what it takes to survive
whether human, animal or plant. |
|
|
B. Development-
Instructor will go over the process with the children to make sure
they have a clear understanding of what they are being asked to do
and ask questions about what they don't understand. |
|
|
C. Practice-
Students will first do a guided model using colored construction
paper. |
|
|
D. Independent Practice-
We will send instructions of the project home with the children
so they can practice at home and show others how to demonstrate the
project. |
|
|
E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
To meet special needs of students you will have to know all of your
children's developmental appropriate stages. You may need special
equipment to accommodate the children with special needs. |
|
|
F. Checking for understanding-
Instructor will walk around the room and observe the children and
see if they have a clear understanding of what they are doing and
to see if they are willing to work together to help the ones who don't
understand. The instructor should ask the children if they are having
problems and if they are she should be willing to assistant them. |
|
|
G. Closure-
Explain to the children why you had them to do the project and what
the concept of the project is. |
|
|
7. Evaluation-
|
You will look at how well the children followed instructions and
you will have their projects in the class where everyone who enters
can see them.

|
8. Teacher Reflection-
|
The lesson was a great success and it helped the children to use
their fine motor skills, hand and eye coordination. |
