Lesson on the season of fall and the changes that happen and activities

3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
|
1.Students will learn the changes and activities that occur in the
fall.
2.Students will learn counting skills with different objects that
represent fall.
3.Students will learn the different colors that represent fall. |

|
4. Objectives-
|
1.Math- Students will count with acorns, leaves, and apples.
2.Language- Students will read "Let it Fall" and observe new words
to represent Fall.
3. Science- Students will observe apples, acorns, and leaves and find
how they are made. |
|
|
5. Materials and Aids-
|
Aids will be offered to those that may need assistants when doing
our hands on activities. Computer will be used to research the different
things that happen during fall for more visuals for the students. |
|
|
6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1. Offer introduction of Fall as a season and an explanation of
what happens when this occurs.
2. Read "Let it Fall" |
|
|
B. Development-
1. After reading "Let it Fall" questions should be asked to see
what the children understood about changes that occur.
2. Offer information and answers to help the students better understand
Fall and what changes occur.
3. Offer guided lessons offering Math, language and science skills. |
|
|
C. Practice-
1.Math- students can practice counting and grouping with acorns,
leaves, and apples.
2.Language- students practice recognize words like: acorn, apple,
and the different colors associated with fall.
3.Science- Students can observe leaves, acorns, and apples to see
how they grow and where they grow. Students can observe them up close
and what they look like on the inside. |

D. Independent Practice-
1.Students will be observed individually doing the counting and
grouping by doing simple worksheets.
2.Students will match the color of the leaf with the correct color
word.
3. Students will be given growth process for a acorn and a apple and
they will cut and paste the pieces in the right order. |

|
E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
1. An aid can assist the student with the counting and grouping
worksheet.
2. A partner can help them match the color of leaf to the color word.
3. An aide can cut the pieces out and assist the student with finding
the right order for the apple and acorn. |
|
|
F. Checking for understanding-
1. Observing the students while they do the activities will represent
if they are understanding the lessons.
2.The worksheets will show what the students understand.
3.A group interaction with the students asking questions will help
us see what they have learned. |
|
|
G. Closure-
1.At the end of the day a group discussion would be done to reflect
on what we learned through the days activities.
2. Encourage students to go home and take a walk outside with their
parents and find things that reflect fall in their neighborhood and
bring them in the next day. |
