palm tree with upper case letters on one side and lower case letters
on the other side. |

6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1.Read the story Chicka Chicka Boom Boom |
|
|
B. Development-
1.Ask questions about the children letters and the adult letters
2.Look at the pages with the adult letters coming to help the children
letters
3.Discuss the differences between upper case and lower case letters |
|
|
C. Practice-
1.Look at the alphabet letters in the front of the classroom and
note the differences between the capital and lower case letters
2.Look at the page with the uppercase letters on the palm tree as
well as the other side with the lower case letters. |
|
|
D. Independent Practice-
1.Trace the upper case letters on the tree, on the paper
2.Trace the lower case letters on the tree, on the paper
3.Name each letter as they trace them |

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
1.Have aide, teacher help those students who are struggling to find
the correct letter
2.Allow for additional time later, with help |
