French Recipes
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1. Students will interpret French recipes.
2. Students will generate shopping lists from the content of the French recipes.
3. Students will present descriptions in French of classic French cuisine.
 
4. Objectives-
1.Students will study classic French cuisine.
2. Students will understand how to read a recipe in French.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
This project will be presented to and modeled with Prezi. Students will also use Prezi to generate their own presentations. Google images will also be used to find images for the presentations.
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

Class discussion on what students know about French cuisine.
 

B. Development-

1.Prezi presentation on interpreting French recipes.
2. This presentation will also model what will be required of students in their small group presentations on a French food and their shopping list.
 

C. Practice-

1. As a class, students and teacher will review a recipe for chocolate eclairs. Everyone will determine what ingredients need to be purchased to create this food and where one could buy these ingredients.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Students will work in small groups to create a Prezi on a food of their choice.
2. Presentations must include a shopping list and food pictures.
3. Students will describe pictures of the food using the simple present tense.
 

Checking for understanding-

1.The teacher will check for understanding of the presentation expectations during the large group discussion.
2. Students will be given an opportunity to ask comprehension questions before beginning their own presentations.
3. Students will be able to ask comprehension questions during work on their presentations.
 

Closure-

Students will share their brief Prezi presentations with the class.
 
7. Evaluation-
1. Participation will be monitored while working in small groups.
2. Shopping lists will be graded as an in-class assignment out of 20 points.
