How can we safely communicate in German and carry on basic conversations that will help us greet people in German.
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1. Learn and remember how to introduce self.
2. Learn and remember how to introduce others.
3. Learn how to describe certain situations and moods.
4. Objectives-
1.Students will effectively salute and greet strangers.
2. Students will effectively salute and greet friends and people who we are familiar with.
3. Students will understand common phrases and reproduce them for effective communication.
5. Materials and Aids-
Heavy use of repetition and some use of writing. Illustrations and pictures.
Handouts from a basic German book.
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. Teacher presents his/herself to class and induces repetition.
2. A student will be asked to participate in a simple dialogue with the teacher.

B. Development-

1. Repeating a simple dialogue three or four times with different students
2. Students will be asked to share with one another what they have learned.
3. Pictures will be presented to students and new concepts will be introduced.

C. Practice-

1. Students will be asked to repeat the dialogues consistently and will witness others.
2. Students will be asked to introduce one another to the class
