5. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

Welcome to Spanish 1! I will be teaching until Ms. White is on leave. We have lots to learn, and lots of fun lessons planned. I'm not sure where you are in your book, so we will be reviewing together to see what we need to work on. I am so glad to meet all of you and know that we will have a great semester. I have a few rules:
1. RESPECT - no ugly language, kind to each other, no talking unless working in groups, raise your hand
2. ON TIME - when the door is closed, you must go to office and get tardy slip
3. NO CELL PHONES - If you have your cell phone out in class, I will collect it and return it to you after class
4. RESTROOM - one person out of the class at a time - sign out pass

B. Development-

I will begin by passing out cardstock and having students write their names on each label. Then each student will choose country flag as I walk around class and take roll. We will discuss nationalities as students glue flag. Students will then take turns writing in the inside of their name tag "Soy Puertorriquena.." etc. I will then discuss how we will work with the individual countries throughout the semester, learning several facts about each and presenting (hopefully using class time in the computer lab in the next couple of weeks) I will pass out vocab flash cards and have students quiz each other on English translation of each for 3-4 minutes, then greet each other using phrases on cards and vocabulary words. We will then review classroom vocab and take turns placing each card on the appropriate item.

C. Practice-

1. Writing name on name tag, gluing flags on name tag while having map on projector (if available)
2. Practicing quizing each other on greetings and simple vocab
