1. Topic-
Introduction to Spanish Speaking Countries, investigating whether this countries use the same Spanish language structure and become familiarize with the location of these countries to not only help students with acquiring a new language but, as well help them understand regions geographically.
 
2. Content-
Discuss in class the importance of Spanish-speaking countries in the world. To help Student develop general knowledge about the location, cultural background of these countries, ancient cultures in Mexico, Central America and Spain.
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
Familiarize students with the diversity of the Hispanic Culture, the importance of their language and understand the traditions of these countries.
 
4. Objectives-
1. Each student should select an Hispanic country to research.
2. Students will verify Spanish-speaking countries from world map.
3. Students will use library or Internet to find information about these Hispanic countries.
4. Students will generalize their findings with whole group and be able to share important information such as traditional food, or other important aspects

 
5. Materials and Aids-
Internet, translator, paper and pencil and other resources such as magazines or other materials helpful for students an a world map.
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. Introduce the most important Spanish Speaking countries, the reason why these countries are Spanish-speaking countries, the ethnics, the current development in these countries, geographical region and their cultural background.
 

B. Development-

1.Ask students to memorize the location of their Spanish Speaking country on the world wide map
2.Ask student to brainstorm general knowledge about these countries, like the reason why these countries are Spanish-speaking countries, and any other important information about that country to discuss in front of the class in Spanish
 

C. Practice-

Divide students into several groups to research information from encyclopedia or from other books to verify that the countries they chose are really use Spanish as official language.

D. Independent Practice-

1. Make students have a 1 minute oral presentation in Spanish on three most important issues in the country they chose to investigate.
2. Have the students locate their country in the world map
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

Give students a clear unit goal why they need to explore Hispanic world before or while learning Spanish. And explain to them that not all Spanish Speaking countries use the same Spanish.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

Ask students to share their impressions of Hispanic world
and pronounce the name of their country in Spanish.
 

G. Closure-

Ask random students to come in front of the class to locate a certain Spanish speaking county and say something important about that country.
 
7. Evaluation-
Ask students to write assignment on what they learn about their country and what was the most interesting aspect about that country. And write three sentences in Spanish describing the country they chose.
