Conjugating verbs in the present tense.
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.Students will understand the vocabulary being taught.
2.Students will see the different endings to the verbs.
3.Students will be able to conjugate simple verbs in spanish.
 
4. Objectives-
1.Students will work in groups as they come to the board to select the right conjugations.
2.The class as a whole will choose the correct conjugation in sentence form.
3.Students will be able to conjugate the verbs on their own.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Smartboard, projection monitor, paper, pencils.
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Verb endings in Spanish.
2.Focusing on the different endings to the verbs for each subject in the sentence.
3.Identifing which ending goes with the main subject.
 

B. Development-

1.Visusally exlplaining where each ending goes where.
2.Providing examples of the endings
3.Matching each ending to the correct subject.
 

C. Practice-

1.Each group memeber must come to the board and select the correct ending.
2.The class as a whole will answer questions.
3.Each student will be assesd individually.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Homework will be assinged to log onto the quia website for practice.
2. After review, the students will take a quiz on conjugation.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.Student and teacher aides will work more with students with disabilities.
2.Each student will have a partner to guide them through the use of quia.com.
3.Gifted students will be able to advance to further chapters on quia.com
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1. Homework will be reviewed to assure understanding
2. Quia.com allows you to track the students progress
3.Quiz scores will ensure the students have an understanding.
 

G. Closure-

1.Having the essential conjugations down is key to advance in the language.
 
7. Evaluation-
1.Students enjoyed the lesson.
2.Students enjoyed being able to check their answers on quia.com
 
8. Teacher Reflection-
Students showed improvement in understanding the verb conjugations. However, I must focus more on the irregular verbs.
