out of ten attempts.

Teaching transparency 169, interactive board. |

6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1.Teacher will explain to students that sometimes we use certain
nouns as adjectives and that the noun often changes its spelling when
we do that.
2.Explain that we do this when we talk about nationalities or locations
and give them examples. |
|
|
B. Development-
1.Using teaching transparency 169 have the students read sentences
#'s 1 and 2 then the definition of a proper adjective
2.Do numbers 3 and 4 with them.
3.Have them do the rest of the work independently as you walk around
the classroom correcting and reinforcing as you go |
|
|
C. Practice-
1.On day 2 have them do page 81 in the practice book reading the
skill reminder before they do each sentence as the teacher reads the
skills reminder with them and moves around the room correcting and
reinforcing as he goes. |

|
D. Independent Practice-
1.on days 3 and 4 The teacher will restate the meaning of proper
adjective and how they are formed before the students begin their
work.
2.On days 3 and 4 students will complete the pages in the language
handbook 144 and 145 |

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
1.Assistant will sit with a small group consisting of Markeas, Tyriq,
Gary and Trinity to offer assistance as needed and continue to explain
what a proper noun is and how to form them |
|
|
F. Checking for understanding-
1.On the 5th day a cumulative review will be given |
|
|
G. Closure-
1.A short ppt on proper nouns will be shown on the 5th day to reinforce
the learning |
|
|
