6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

I will have a short passage (with a variety of different errors based on subject/verb conjugations) up for the students to see.

B. Development-

I will have students that volunteer, read parts of the passage. This will continue until the entire passage has been read.

C. Practice-

I will then ask students to look at the passage closely because there are many errors. With that said, they will start to analyze the piece. Any of the mistakes found by the students will be covered up (with a bandage) and "repaired" by them (writing the correction on the bandage itself).

D. Independent Practice-

After the thorough analyzation of the passage, I will have students record the mistakes. Then, I will have them move into a higher order of thinking stage by asking them to explain why they would correct each mistake. I will do this by asking the question, "What was wrong with this?", for each mistake.

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

For my lower level students, I will allow them to be the first ones to volunteer their opinions. This way, they are able to participate by picking out the easier errors. Also, when I have them do the independent practice activity, I will only have them explain the errors that they were able to pick out.

F. Checking for understanding-

I will have the higher level students write a paragraph using the appropriate tenses they learned. As for my lower level students, I will have them pick a tense or two and have them write a few sentences with those.

G. Closure-

I will have the students sit in their small groups and read what they wrote to each other. This will allow for there to be conversation and discussion about the topic of subject/verb conjugations.
