Adverb- Adverbs are often formed by adding -ly to an adjective, as in truly or deeply .
Theme-message the author wants the reader to receive after reading the passage.
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.Students to familiarize how to find the theme of a story.
2.Students to learn what a adverb is and how to use it in the correct manner.
3.Students to complete the lesson conclusion and get a good grade on it.
 
4. Objectives-
1.SWL what the theme of a story is.IOT find the theme of a story/passage.
2.SWL what a theme is. IOT further develop their knowledge.
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Teachers may attach any worksheets for classwork, homework etc.
At the end of this lesson a Unit reading quiz is highly recommended.
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. It's time to work with the students
 

B. Development-

1.Take Notes with the students
2.Make a poster with a list of adverbs.
 

C. Practice-

1.For the theme lesson in pairs of 2 an they will be assigned a article and the will need to find the theme and the main idea (main idea optional)
2.Print adverb front and back work. Do one side as a class and the other is independent work.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Print adverb front and back work. Do one side as a class and the other is independent work.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.Take notes on adverb and Theme with the class. It will help the students get a better understanding.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1.It is always helpful to ask your students if there is any thing they are still confused about. If there is spend a little bit of time on the answer to their question.
 

G. Closure-

1.Students should write a conclusion BCR on what they have learned in this lesson
(BCR question) In 2 sentences write one thing that was the hardest to learn in this lesson and why?
 
7. Evaluation-
1.These lessons should take around 4 days.
2 for theme and 2 for adverb
