"Pat The Vet" decodable reader book
Whisper Phones

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.Ask students to join Mrs. Roberts in small group.
2. Introduce the Book
3. Ask the students to be a word detective and find ONE word that they do not know.
 

B. Development-

1. I read book first to the students.
2. Students will then echo read book and follow along with finger.
3. Students will whisper read book.
 

C. Practice-

1. Students will acknowledge punctuation with pauses.
2.Students will recognize Title Page
 

D. Independent Practice-

1. Students will recall what happened in story.
2. have students go back to desk and write two more words that use the blend -et or -ed.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

use the correct level book for the readers.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1. What happened in story.
2. Who went to the vet?
 

G. Closure-

1.A vet is a doctor for animals.
 
7. Evaluation-
Check the words that students were asked to write.
