3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-

2. Facilitate the understanding of the characters by assigning each student a character to focus and then having all the characters read in class for the benefit of the students.
3. The students will be shown the difference between the information in the book about the character assigned vs the facts about that character in real life.

4. Objectives-
1. Look for information on the character assigned that is not in the book on the Internet.
2. Organize the information and images in chronological order.(Must source the information and images).
3. Make the facebook page about the character filling all the boxes that the student understands apply.
4. Send the link to my email so I may verify and suggest if needed.
5. Send email when alterations have been made.
6. Present the character of another student, assigned randomly in class using the facebook page.

5. Materials and Aids-
1. Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief(physical book or pdf).
2. Computer with Internet. access.
3. Projector in classroom or place where presentations will take place.

6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

Introduction: In this lesson, students will use facebook and search engines to create a complete Facebook page for a character assigned in the book Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.

B. Development-

I will pick a character, then I will draw numbers depending on the class size and assign that student the character I picked. Students will pick a partner before I inform them of their character. I will then inform them of the character and introduce the activity with the objectives and show them an example.

C. Practice-

The students will begin working on their assignment and continue as homework. The next class they should be finishing the work and sending it to me so I may verify and suggest changes if needed. They continue to work on it until next class where they submit their final work and begin preparing for their presentation. The fourth day they begin presenting and depending on the size of the class it will extend to the faith day where presentations will finish.

D. Independent Practice-

Students may use anything they find on the Internet. so long as they can source it. The reason why they Must source is is to validate it and minimize the risk of putting false information in their work while thinking it is real. The purpose of having another student present one student's work is to show how this other person reads the profile and images and understands it. It should be done well enough that the classmates and I can understand it without problem.

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

Depending on their abilities, some students may finish the activity faster than scheduled and will be allowed to be in their computers so long as they do not disturb their classmates. The class will take place either in a computer room or in the regular classroom if all the students have access to a computer. Any other needs that need to be met because of a student's requirements will be handled according to the school policy or my judgment if there is no school policy on that need. It will be handled in favor of the student but not so much as to give an extremely unfair advantage in comparison to the other students.

F. Checking for understanding-

1. Students will send the link to their work the second day and I will verify and make any corrections if necessary. They may come before if they have doubts.
2. When presenting, the class will also judge to see if they understood everything that was presented.

G. Closure-

I will present the students with the idea that they should:
1. Write so that others can understand your work, not only oneself.
2. Verify information and be open to differences in literature and interpretations.

7. Evaluation-
1. Corrections were made if any were suggested.
2. Information and Images were sourced.
3. Classmates and I could understand his page and all it's content with no difficulty(excluding lack of understanding due to context or previous reading requirements not given in class).

8. Teacher Reflection-
Take notes on what worked and what didn't and why they did or didn't and modify lesson plan accordingly or add the notes for future reference.
