Researching Fairy Tales from different cultural backgrounds, as
well as listing the moral lessons within the fairy tale they choose. |

3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
|
1.Students will pick a fairy tale of their choice after having researched
on the Internet.
2.Students will analyze and list the moral lessons they believe are
present within their fairy tale.
3.Students will take what they have researched and analyzed and present
the information on a poster that will hang in the classroom. |

4. Objectives-
|
1.Students will read and write for information and understanding-
NYS Standard 1
2. Students will read and write for information and understanding
literary response and expression- NYS Standard 2

5. Materials and Aids-
|
Computer, Markers, Large Construction Paper/Poster Board, Paper,
Directions (Handout) |

6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1.Students will go to library for 2-3 days,
2.Students will each find a fairy tale and find the moral lessons
present within each fairy tale.
3.Students will transfer the information gathered and present it to
the classroom by creating a poster. |
|
|
B. Development-
1.Student will be given a handout of directions of the research
they will be doing.
2.These directions will also explain what to look for as far as morals
lessons within their fairy tales.
|
|
|
C. Practice-
1.Teacher will give websites to students which will guide them towards
a fairy tale of their preference. Teacher will be available for questions
and/or help the students may need.

|
|
D. Independent Practice-
1.Students will have a fairy tale picked by the end of research.
2.Students will analyze their fairy tale, locating the moral lessons
present within their fairy tale |

|
E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
1. Student who require extra assistance may be given an aid.
|
|
|
F. Checking for understanding-
1.Student will have valid morals from their chosen fairy tale presented
on a poster for class. |
|
|
G. Closure-
1.Students will then take produced work from this lesson and use
it for the next lesson plan. |
|
|
7. Evaluation-
|
1.Students will have demonstrated ability to independently research
a fairy tale of their choice.
2.Students will have analyzed their fairy tale and pulled moral lessons.
3.Students will have presented mastery of research by presenting information
on a poster to class. |
