A. Introduction-

1.Pool information on what we have learnt so far about Crooks.

2. Reveal these one at a time on the Whiteboard and students must write on their mini-whiteboard who they think said it.
 

B. Development-

1.In pairs pupils consider how the characters who appear in Chapter 4 will behave when they are brought together.

2. Reveal the three scenarios one at a time on the whiteboard.
 

C. Practice-

1.Read each section of Chapter 4, pausing between sections to consider: who has control of the situation; why that character has control and how they show their power.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Consider the status of each of these character in 1930's America. Why are they all thrown together in Chapter 4? Why aren't they in town with the others? What do they have in common?
