6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1. Show title page of "The Dog Ate My Homework, So I Turned In His
Food" with "Digesting Cause and Effect" hidden. Reveal the whole title
after clicking on the dog food. |

B. Development-
1. Give definition of Cause and a correlating picture or scenario.
2. Give definition of Effect and a correlating picture or scenario.
3. Give indicative words of cause and effect.
4. Give them a scenario with one an indicative word and demonstrate
how I find the cause and/or effect by locating the word. |

|
C. Practice-
1.Show pictures or give scenarios and ask students to guess what
will happen next or why something might have happened.

D. Independent Practice-
1.Read R.L.Stine's Twist-a-plot book: "Time Raider" and while reading
use cause and effect to determine possible outcomes in order to make
a decision.

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
Print-outs of Cause and Effect Information

F. Checking for understanding-
Have students record the cause and effect of a decision while reading
"Time Raider" then enter their decision. |

G. Closure-
1.Have the cause- "If you understand today's material" on the screen.
2. Have students write a possible effect. |
