A. Introduction-

1.Warm-Up: What is the tone of the passage provided? Explain your answer.
 

B. Development-

1.Review tone through cloze resource
2.Use Warm-Up task to review/show how to identify tone.
 

C. Practice-

1.Intro "Madam and the Rentman" poem and task
2.Read poem
3.Use think-aloud to model how to find the tone of the text while students take notes on their sheets
4.Check for understanding
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Students will work to find the tone of the TC excerpt
2.Teacher will hand out and review BCR rubric and organizer
3.Students will compose 'A' part of BCR (RAG)
4.Students will compose the 'CE' part of the BCR to support and explain answer
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.MOD students to be provided a MOD BCR organizer
2.MOD students to be provided 3 choices for tone of TC excerpt
