2.Powerpoint presentation enhancing compositions skills
 

C. Practice-

1.Read Getting to Know the Author: P.L. Dunbar pg 112 and We Wear the Mask pg 115 and answer Understanding Poetry questions on pg 117 in the Literature book.
2.Read Getting to Know the Author: Edgar Allan Poe pg 235 and Tale-Tell Heart pg 242 and answer comprehension questions on pg 245 in the Literature book.
3.Read Getting to Know the Author: Langston Hughes pg 309 and Thank You M'am pg 315 and answer comprehension questions on pg 322 in the Literature book.
 

D. Independent Practice-

In class, students are to create an outline for their composition homework.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

Teacher review every students outline to ensure that they are following directions
 

F. Checking for understanding-

For homework, students are to write a 2 page report. The essay should tell about the author read about in class, his or her work that was discussed in class, and authors purpose
 

G. Closure-

Ensure that skills are mastered. These skills will be reflected in composing their final project
