Villanella: What is it?, How is it used in Poetry today?, How to write a proper poem using this poetic form of writing?, History of Villanella?, Examples of current and old Villanella Poems.
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.Teach methods of writing a Villanella poem so that a proper one can be written at the end of the presentation
2. Teach about the history of the writing
3.Give the students enough background information on the subject so that they can successfully use this type of poetry
 
4. Objectives-
1.Keep the crowd from falling asleep
2. Make the presentation interesting
3. Have opportunities for growth
 
5. Materials and Aids-
PowerPoint, handouts, trivia questions
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1. Introduce the type of poetry.
2. Open the PowerPoint to begin teaching about this form of poetry.
3. Give out handout so that the students can follow along in the explanations.
 

B. Development-

1. Go over poem in the handout
2. Ask questions about the techniques involved in the writing.
3. Finish up the PowerPoint
 

C. Practice-

Begin asking trivia questions about what we just went over about the type of poetry.
 

D. Independent Practice-

Have the students talk among groups for a moment to put together an idea of an example of a Villanella poem
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

None
 

F. Checking for understanding-

Ask some general questions on Villanella poetry to get an idea of how many students understood the explanations and could then write a Villanella poem successfully.
 

G. Closure-

Answer any questions about the presentation
