4. To be able to orally tell a story and write the story while telling

4. Objectives-
|
1. After some practice, Audrey will be able to use short pauses
after her sentences.
2. After some practice, Audrey will be able to use inflection in her
reading.
3. With progression, Audrey will be more interested in reading chapter
books.
4. Audrey will orally tell a story and also write the story as she
is telling it. |

5. Materials and Aids-
|
Geronimo Stilton: It's Halloween You 'Fraidy Mouse!
A bag with miscellaneous items such as pens, pencils, flashlights,
miniature pigs, and etc. |
|
|
6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
Before we continue with reading Geronimo, I will show Audrey the
bag with the miscellaneous items in it and then we will recap the
reading from last week. |
|
|
B. Development-
Audrey and I will engage in shared reading. When it is my turn to
read, I will demonstrate to her how to use inflection. In addition
to that, we will take turns telling stories with items randomly pulled
from a bag. |
|
|
C. Practice-
1. I will work with Audrey using more pauses after she reads each
sentence.
2. I will help her figure out the difference between reading dialogue
and narration.
3. Audrey will practice using inflection in her voice while she is
orally telling her story from the bag of miscellaneous items. |
|
|
D. Independent Practice-
1. Audrey will take pauses in between sentences while reading.
2. When reading, she should become more excited whenever she sees
an exclamation mark.
3. When Audrey tells her story, she should be able to use inflection.
4. In addition to using inflection, Audrey should also be able to
write her story as she is telling it. |

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
If Audrey needs any accommodations, arrangements will be made accordingly. |
|
|
F. Checking for understanding-
At the end of each chapter we complete, Audrey and I will discuss
what we have read about and use predictions to determine what will
happen next.
While Audrey is telling her story, she should also write it down so
that it will always be recorded. Once Audrey has completed her story
telling, she will give a summary of her story. |
|
|
G. Closure-
At the end of today, Audrey will be able to give a recap of the
Halloween book as well as a recap about the story she told today. |
