A. Introduction-
Explanation about what we are going to be working on. see if anybody
knows what theme is already. |

B. Development-
1.Read a short book aloud and help them find the theme of the story

C. Practice-
1.Read a short 1 paged paper.
2.Have them recognize the theme of the story. |

D. Independent Practice-
1.Have them write down the definition of theme
2.Make a diagram
3.Write vocabulary
4.Have them explain in a summary telling what the theme of the story
they just read is. |
