2. Content-
3-5 minute speech teaching peers how to do something including either a demonstration or examples of the finished product.
 
3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.Work in pairs to decide on a topic as well as working together in covering all information in and organized fashion.
2.organize information and demonstration time to be clear and appropriate.
3.Speaking clearly while demonstrating skill so that peers understand.
 
4. Objectives-
1.Team work.
2.Information organization.
3.Speaking skills
 
5. Materials and Aids-
Time needed to discuss topics within groups, organizing information.
Any items need to complete demonstration supplied by the students.
 
6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.get together with assigned partner.
2.Pick a topic you would like to teach the class.
3.Work on how to present the information and demonstration to peers.
 

B. Development-

1.Team work.
2.Organizational skills.
3.Public speaking.
 

C. Practice-

1.Outline steps to achieve product.
2.Review information with in pairs.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Practice your dialogue in front of a mirror.
2.Demonstrate activities for team member or family members.
3.Video record the presentation for mistakes or possible improvements.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

1.time during class to work with partner on speech and demonstration.
2.Assistance through out assignment for ideas, advice and practice.
3.Video recorder for final speech.
 

F. Checking for understanding-

1.Scan audience for attentiveness and understanding of information being presented.
2.Offer a time for questions and answers.
3. Ask class to perform a newly demonstrated task.
 

G. Closure-

1.Have a class discussion of the demonstrations presented.
2.Allow students to review their taped demonstration speech for self-evaluation.
 
7. Evaluation-
1.Observation and notes on speech and demonstration.
2.Class discussion on each topic clearing up any misunderstandings.
 
8. Teacher Reflection-
By asking students to work in pairs you asking them to be a part of a team, to find a common task to teach and demonstrate in front of their peers. Promoting self-awareness of a skill and asking them to have self-confidence to teach the lesson in front of their peers.
