6. Procedures/Methods-

A. Introduction-

1.The instructor of this course (Mr. Black)once gave a ten-minute competitive speech for which he was awarded a full-ride college scholarship worth approximately $30,000 in today's dollars.
2.He has also been able to have many enjoyable experiences (like teaching this class) because of learning his speaking and creative writing skills, and he desires to help you to enjoy similar success.
 

B. Development-

1. Oral class reading of the book "IS THERE A SPEECH INSIDE YOU? (Begin on page #13, and put a post-it note to mark the spot for the next classes' reading. Stop reading after everyone has had at least two chances to read which should be at about 11:30 #1 Students must stand, take a breath, and read in their clearest voice when they are called upon to read.
2.Silent reading while answering the questions on the handout about "Writing Killer Fiction.
 

C. Practice-

Call upon each of the students to share their feelings about the experience of standing and reading aloud
 

D. Independent Practice-

Have students complete the quiz while reading to themselves about mystery writing.
 

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-

Students who are having difficulty may work with a partner.

 

F. Checking for understanding-

During the next class, have the students correct one anothers' papers and hand them in so the teacher may check their comprehension

 

G. Closure-

You will now be given your first wring and speaking assignment. You are to write it as homework, and present it during our next class as an in-class speaking assignment.

2.Who well they followed directions on the iconographic map assignment
