Language is one of the most important components a society and a
person has in order to communicate and thrive. Because of this, we
need to learn how to use language correctly and efficiently. |

3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
|
1.Find English words in everyday situations and learn how they are
used.
2.Each student should learn the correct spelling, pronunciation and
use of the English language.
3.Learn that technology can be used for education as well as a social
tool and entertainment |

|
4. Objectives-
|
1. The Student will be able to expand their own vocabulary
2. They will learn the correct use, spelling, pronunciation in addition
of other words that might be used to identify different objects, people
etc.
3. . Will use the technology available to them to interact with the
rest of their classmates in a Positive NON-Offensive way, to expand
as a group their English Vocabulary

5. Materials and Aids-

Computer and/or smartphone
with a instant messaging application like "Whats app"
voice recorder

6. Procedures/Methods-
|
A. Introduction-
1.The student will be discussing the importance of language in our
life. How is it that "language" can help us in our life as people
and as a society.
2. Students will also be asked to think of what would happen is we
didn't have any language to communicate with others.
3.After the student have discussed the importance of "language" they
will be asked what can technology do, to help us develop better communication
skills. |

B. Development-
1.After the students have finished discussing the days lesson, students
will be assigned to make a list of 20 words.
2.These words are supposed to identify everyday things that the student
sees and or uses.
3. With each word the student will provide the picture, the antonym
and synonym and the correct pronunciation.
4. This assignment will be done with the use of technology. For those
students that have access to a smartphone they will join the group
the teacher has created for this assignment. For those students that
do not have access to a smartphone will use a camera and a voice recorder. |

C. Practice-
1. For an example, the teacher has already created the group in
which she will add every student with access to a phone and the application
needed.
2. After adding the student each student will identify an object in
the classroom with all the requirements the teacher has given.
2. For those without access to the phone and application, they will
be identifying objects a loud.

D. Independent Practice-
1. The same principle will be practiced at the student's home, using
their phone and/or computer (via e-mail).
2. Each student will submit via email, or phone, with all it's requirements,
a minimum of 5 words a day.
3. At the end of the week each student will be asked to develop a
Power Point Presentation providing the list of words |

E. Accommodations (Differentiated Instruction)-
1.For those students that do not have access to a smartphone will
use a camera and a voice recorder. They will later upload the pictures
to their computer and send the picture with everything the teacher
has required via e-mail.
2. These students that are not able to use a voice recorder, for the
assignment, they will meet with the teacher every day to say the words
to the teacher in class.

F. Checking for understanding-
1. At the end of the week the students will gather all of the submitted
words with all their components.
2.These words will be presented in class in a Power Point Presentation.
3. The words presented will have all of the components that were submitted
during the week. The presentation will also include examples of phrases
and or sentences using each of the words. |

G. Closure-
With this assignment each student has learned the importance of
language in our lives and how language is a basic and important part
of our society. They will also have learned the importance that technology
has in our lives and how the use of technology could be used to learn. |

7. Evaluation-
|
This is a two grade assignment
During the week and using the app or e-mail
1.For each picture and the correct word the student will be given
2 points
2. For the correct synonyms, antonyms 2 points
3. For the correct pronunciation 1 points.
This first part is a total of 100 points
Presenting these words at the end of the week in a power point presentation
would be an additional 100 points |

8. Teacher Reflection-
|
Language is a important part of our lives. We need language in order
to communicate effectively with others. Technology in another important
tool in our lives and using this tool to teach and learn in the process,
is an important step in order to connect more people and take education
to a new level. |
