their classmates, and that they will be working in groups to complete
their project.
2. After breaking into groups, discuss ways that our words can be
represented: defining them, sentences, pictures, etc. Have each group
take a moment to decide how they will represent the words in their
video.
3. Have students go to www.Animoto.com. |
|
|
B. Development-
1. Before beginning their project, share with them a vocabulary
video already created. Discuss what they saw, what they liked, and
disliked.
2. Draw their attention to the music. Is it familiar to them? What
would they have done differently?
3. Tell students that as a group, they will be creating a video of
their own and sharing it with the class. Have them chose 5 vocabulary
words that they will represent in their video. |

provided at the site. Have students click on images and choose their
category. They will then see a screen of pictures. Instruct them to
pick their 5 pictures (one for each word they choose) while holding
down the CTRL key. When they are done, click DONE.
5. Next, they will have to add text for each picture. In order to
do this, click on the picture and then go to bar at bottom and hit
ADD TEXT. You will see an orange square with a capital "T" in it.
Next to it you will see a text bar that reads "Main Text." This is
where you type your vocabulary word. You will then see a bar that
reads "Sub Text." This is where you will type either your word definition
or sentence, depending on what your group has chosen to do. Continue
this process until each word has been done.
6. Next step is to choose your video music. Students should click
"Select/Music Type/Song." Once this is complete, you will be shown
a screen that tells you the song you picked. If this is correct, click
CONTINUE, if not, edit here.
7. Step 3: This is where you have the option of customizing your video.
Speed selection should be 1, and length is full. This is also where
you can change your video style is you think the one you had is not
the right choice. When done, hit CONTINUE.
8. On the next page you will have to give your video a title, describe
what your video is about, and name the producers of the video. When
completed, hit CREATE VIDEO.
