A. Introduction-

1.Differentiate formal and informal reading/writing
2.Sharon Draper and her book Battle of Jeriicho
 

B. Development-

These activities teach students how to read literature differently. By studying different aspect of the literature students will be able to compose writings using different perspectives of the same work. This opens students to advance creative writings and critical thinking. Activities such as..... will be used to get students excited about their assignments to come.
 

C. Practice-

1.Students are to do most of their formal research in class using all the necessary resources.
2. Students are to compose a draft of the formal research paper. In class I will critique their work to insure that students are on the right path.
3.Student will perform an informal reading of Battle of Jericho in class. Any questions and ideas that arise will be discussed in class.
4.Students will compose a draft of their informal research paper in class. I will review their work to ensure that students are on the right path.
 

D. Independent Practice-

1.Research that is not completed in class will be completed at home.
2.Students are to compose their 1.5 page formal research paper at home.
3.Students are to compose their 2 page informal research paper at home/
