3. Goals: Aims/Outcomes-
1.Create and solve equations involving addition, subtraction, and
multiplication of whole numbers.
2.Create linear patterns.
4. Objectives-
1. Students will be able to make fact families from the generated
numbers.
2.Students will be able to make two addition problems using the generated
numbers.
3.Students will be able to make two subtraction problems using the
generated numbers.
4.Students will be able to make two multiplication problems using
the generated numbers.
5.Students will be able to make two division problems using the generated
numbers. |
5. Materials and Aids-
SMARTboard, computer, and overhead projector. |
6. Procedures/Methods-
A. Introduction-
1. Look at "fact families" and what they consist of.
2.Talk about the number of digits that each family has, and how they
relate to each other.
B. Development-
Show number generator, generate three numbers and use those numbers
in a fact family.
C. Practice-
1.Have students use the number generators to pick numbers.
2.Guide/remind students that we only need 3 numbers in our fact family.
D. Independent Practice-
Students will have the opportunity to work through a problem using
the SMARTboard number generator.
F. Checking for understanding-
1. Students will have the opportunity to work through two to three
problems to show knowledge of fact families.
2.Ask student(s) to give you their own three numbers to generate a
fact family. |
G. Closure-
Ask student(s) to give you their own three numbers to generate a
fact family.
1.Ability at the SMARTboard to complete the task at hand.
2.Verbal responses. |
