from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns
in all positions, eg, by using drawings and equations with a symbol

cards with beans so that students will understand that when you regroup,
you gather ten ones to make a ten or break apart a ten into ten ones.
Using base ten blocks and counters to model number sentences and practice
regrouping. |
C. Practice-
1. Students will use manipulatives so that they will have a clear
understanding of when you regroup, you gather ten ones and trade it
in for a ten. Also, take a ten and trade it for ten ones.
2. Workmat from textbook.

unless they so desire.
F. Checking for understanding-

every student.
2. A formal assessment will be given each day.
G. Closure-
